West Bengal Civil Service, popularly known as W.B.C.S., is the civil service of the Indian state of West Bengal. The Public Service Commission of West Bengal conducts competitive examinations every year in three phases. The first phase is the preliminary examination, which consists of a written test. This is followed by an interview or an oral examination for the posts open only to candidates belonging to West Bengal. The final phase is the main examination, which consists of a written test and an interview or oral examination.
