The CBSE syllabus is divided into different topics and subtopics which will be covered by the student in the course of one academic year. For the new academic session 2021-22, CBSE has released the latest syllabus for classes 11 and 12 on its official website. The syllabus is divided into two parts, and the Term 1 and Term 2 exam will be conducted based on the CBSE Syllabus. The syllabus includes a summary and outline of the chapters to be studied during the teaching and learning process in a particular class. Most of the Indian national entrance exams ask questions based on CBSE Syllabus. Each year, CBSE releases the syllabus for classes 1-12. The document contains both basic and in-depth information about each subject, which is crucial for both teachers & students.
Sociology is introduced as an elective subject at the senior secondary stage. The syllabus is designed to help learners to reflect on what they hear and see in the course of everyday life and develop a constructive attitude towards society in change; to equip a learner with concepts and theoretical skills for the purpose. The curriculum of Sociology at this stage should enable the learner to understand dynamics of human behavior in all its complexities and manifestations. The learners of today need answers and explanations to satisfy the questions that arise in their minds while trying to understand social world. Therefore, there is a need to develop an analytical approach towards the social structure so that they can meaningfully participate in the process of social change.
