Overview of Eastern Railway Apprentice Merit List 2023
The Eastern Railway will prepare a merit list for selecting candidates for the training slot of its unit, based on the detailed information provided by candidates in the online application form. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the average of marks obtained in matriculation and ITI. For trades where class 10th pass is the minimum qualification, a separate merit list will be drawn for eligible candidates based on the average of the percentage marks obtained in both matriculation and ITI examinations.
In case of candidates having the same marks, preference will be given to the one who is older in age or who passed the matriculation examination earlier. For trades where class 8 pass is the minimum qualification, a merit list will be prepared based on the average marks obtained in class 8th standard and ITI examination. Candidates up to 1.5 times the notified training slot will be called for documentation based on merit. The merit list will be helpful for candidates who have applied for the apprenticeship program of Eastern Railway in 2023.
Highlights:
The selection process for the training slot of an Eastern Railway unit will be based on the merit of all applicants who apply for the notification.
The merit list will be prepared based on the detailed information provided by the candidate in the online application form. If any discrepancies are found in the candidate’s details, their candidature will be canceled by the railway administration.
The select list of document divisions will be based on the average marks in the matriculation and ITI exams. For trades that require a minimum qualification of class 10th, a separate merit list will be drawn for eligible candidates based on the percentage of marks obtained in both matriculation and ITI exams, with equal weightage given to both.
In case of a tie, the older candidate will be preferred. If the dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed the matriculation examination earlier will be considered first.
For trades that require a minimum qualification of class 8th, the merit list will be prepared for all eligible candidates, including those with a qualification of matriculation who opt for these states, based on the average marks obtained in both class 8th and ITI exams, with equal weightage given to both.
Candidates who score up to 1.5 times the notified training slot in the respective committees, as per the merit prepared using the above formula, will be called for documentation of the unit to cater to absenteeism and rejections.
