The state of UP is witnessing a mayoral election with 83 candidates contesting for the position in 7 municipal corporations, including Meerut, Ghaziabad, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Aligarh, Kanpur, Ayodhya, and Shahjahanpur. The BSP, BJP, Congress, and SP are significant players in the second phase of civic elections. The final phase of voting for the municipal elections in Uttar Pradesh will take place on Thursday.
This phase includes elections for 7 Municipal Corporations, 95 Municipal Corporations, 267 Nagar Panchayat posts, and councilor seats in 38 districts of 9 divisions.
