The Way of the Cross or Sleeve Path is a collection of prayers commemorating the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The Way of the Cross is celebrated in all Catholic churches during Lent. This devotional system, which includes meditation and prayers based on the remarkable events of Jesus’ suffering, is organized in fourteen places. These places, from the assassination of Jesus to his death on the cross, are based on the biblical and Christian tradition of persecution.
The Way of the Cross is also held outside the churches. This is often done on Good Friday on the Way of the Cross. In Kerala, the Way of the Cross is mainly performed on Wayanad Pass and Malayattoor Hill on Good Friday.
