Overview of Amma Vodi Scheme

The Amma Vodi Scheme is a welfare scheme initiated by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in India in January 2020. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to the mothers or guardians of school-going children who are studying in government or private schools. Under the scheme, eligible mothers or guardians will receive an amount of Rs. 15,000 per year to support the education of their children. The scheme aims to increase enrollment and retention rates in schools, and reduce dropouts due to financial difficulties. It is hoped that the scheme will help reduce illiteracy rates and improve educational outcomes in the state.

Eligibility Criteria

• The student must belong to below the poverty line category.
• The student must be a permanent and legal resident of Andhra Pradesh state.
• Students must have a working Aadhar card number.
• The student must have a white ration card.
• The student must have a working and eligible PAN card.
• The beneficiary must be studying in class 1st to 12th in government or in private aided and private unaided schools/ Jr. colleges including residential schools /colleges in the state from the Academic year 2019-2020.
• The student must have at least 75% attendance in the current academic year.
• A State Government Official’s ward is not applicable for the scheme.
